Wirral Metro Spring Gala

We had thirty swimmers competing over the weekend of the 7th and 8th March. Out of the 141 races our swimmers swam 109 personal best times were achieved with everyone swimming at least one pb.

 

Special mention to Ben Shiels, Connie Urumov, Oliver Horscroft, Dylan Jess, Gracie Urumov, Kayla Rawlins Williams, Jess Lee, Benji Lyon, Gracie Mae Patton and Emma Newsham who all achieved personal best times in every race they swam

We also had a number swimmers who achieved podium finishes - Eric Byrne (13) - Gold in the 50m Butterfly, 50m Backstroke and 100m Butterfly, Connie Urumov (15) - Gold in 50m and 100m Backstroke also achievng her Regional times in both races, Silver in the 200m Backstroke and 100m Butterfly and Bronze in 100m Free, Lily Anna Ireland (Open) - Gold in the 50m Breaststroke and Bronze in the 100m Breaststroke, Oliver Horscroft (13) Bronze in the 50m Backstroke, Tom Wilde (11) - Gold in the 200m Butterfly, Silver in the 200m IM and 100m Free and Bronze in the 100m Breaststroke, Ben Shiels (14) - Silver in the 400m IM and 200m IM, Eve Schofield (14) - Bronze in the 50m Butterfly, Kayla Rawlins Williams (Open) - Bronze in the 200m Free and Jason Rawlins Williams (Open) - Gold in the 200m Butterfly

Overall an excellent weekend for our swimmers and by the look of most of our swimmers faces in the photograph they enjoyed themselves as well.
