Len Thomas Sprint Gala

Sunday the 14th July and 39 of our swimmers from Junior A and A Squad were up bright and early to meet at Garston Pool at 7am to catch the coach to Llandudno.

39 swimmers entered 214 races over the two sessions which resulted in 131 best times being achieved.

Everyone achieved at least one pb however the following swimmers achieved personal best times in every race they swam, Matthew Fazakerley (6), Olivia Lee (6),

Jessica Lee (6), Gracie Umurov (3), Tom Wilde (4) and Evie Kitchen (4).

In the top girl and boy competition Emily Morris came 2nd and Libby Manning 4th and  Criostai Hayden-Callen came 3rd and Eric Byrne 6th.

In the 4 x 50m team freestyle and medley relays our A teams won Gold in the 13 and under and 14 and over age groups whilst our B teams collected silver in both age groups in the freestyle and the 14 and over medley relay with the 13 and under picking up bronze in their medley relay, teams are pictured below

So the icing on the cake of a really enjoyable day was we won the 'Top Team Trophy', we accumulated a massive 2147 points ahead of 2nd place Llandudno 1228 points with Bebington following in 3rd with 1171 points.  Photos below shows the Club Captains Criostai and Lily-Anna collecting the trophy from Len Thomas's widow and all our swimmers with the trophy at the end of the gala.
