Lancashires - Weekend 3
So the finally weekend of this years championships were we had ten swimmers competing. On Saturday the Fazakerley brothers, James and Matthew, made their parents very proud with both of them winning their heats in the 50m Free and both achieving pbs, James swimming 34.44 and finishing 14th in the 10/11 years age group with Matthew swimming 28.90 finishing 32nd in the 15 year old age group.Eric Byrne also pb'ed in his heat of the 50m Free, swimming 28.21 which meant he finished 7th in the 14 year old age group and so making the final. In the final he swam an outstanding length finishing just out side the medals in 4th place but he again improved his pb, this time swimming 27.63.On to Sydney King and Connie Urumov who both swam in the 16 year old age group 100m Backstroke with Sydney finishing in 19th place swimming 1:18.42 which was just outside her pb. Connie swam 1:14.78 achieving a 11th place finish and a long course pb.Final event of the day was the 200m Butterfly in which we had Alex Keegan and Jason Rawlins Williams competing in he 17 years and over age group. Jason swam a really strong first 100m turning in first place but the fast pace took its toll in the second 100m and Jason fell away finishing in 7th place in the heat in a time of 2:37.88 and 10th overall. Alex had a steadier swim and came in 2nd in his heat in a time of 2:23.98 finishing in 8th place overall.
